Today A&P were able to dissect sheep brains to locate anatomical parts of the brain and to feel the texture and consistency of a brain. Comparisons of a sheep brain and a human brain were made and it was noticed that there is a difference in a bipedal mammal vs a quadruped mammal.

Photography students are learning about natural lighting vs. studio lighting. Today was a great chance for them to take advantage of the overcast sky as they practiced some of their skills. The snow was a bonus and made for lots of fun and laughter... and maybe some frozen fingers too!

6th grade art spent October learning about two styles of art,
Notan art - a Japanese style of art that balances light and dark and uses a mirror image to look at the shapes and patterns in an image.
Batik art - an Indonesian style of art that uses a wax resist dying technique. Students used crayon as the wax resist and painted over with a black paint wash.
